Shawano Site – Native American Focus

This site will offer a complete immersion into the Menominee Native American tribe. Participants will have opportunities to learn about the Native American culture through various activities, beginning with a Pow Wow honoring Veterans on Sunday. The week provide a historical perspective of termination & restoration. Visits around the county will include the tribal clinic, College of the Menominee Nation, Tribal School , Maehnowesekiyah Treatment Center, Eagle’s Nest Shelter and other community organizations. The group will learn about health disparities affecting the community and explore how residents have engaged their community to create change for their people. The Menominee tribe has received national attention for their progress.

Students will be offered enrollment after the application deadline.
