Wausau Site – Amish and Mennonite Focus

Site Coordinator: Noelle Kolar
8 students

The Wausau–Amish and Mennonite site offers students opportunities to learn about Amish culture and rural health care practice. Central Wisconsin has a significant Amish and Mennonite population in four counties. Students visit businesses, public agencies, and health care providers in Amish/Mennonite communities to explore how respect for culture can interact with state-of-the-art health care. In addition, students learn about the National Farm Program, visit nationally/internationally known Marshfield Clinic’s outstanding laboratory, and learn about state-of-the-art telemedicine that can serve all of our citizens in the north. They learn about the balance between cost of medical care and reduction of risk.

Students will be offered enrollment after the application deadline.
