An important look into HPV-associated oropharyngeal cancer, survivor outcomes and the importance of the HPV vaccine. Dr. Jonas Johnson, professor and chair of the Department of Otolaryngology at UPMC, will present on the epidemiology, prevalence and treatment of oropharyngeal cancer. Dr. Marci Nilsen leads the UPMC Head and Neck Cancer Survivorship clinic and will present on patient-reported outcomes reflecting treatment related toxicities. Dr. Lynne Williams, an internal medicine-pediatric primary care physician, will discuss the safety, efficacy, and importance of the HPV vaccine in cancer prevention.
